카펜터즈(Carpenters)는

Karen Carpenter와 그녀의 오빠 Richard Carpenter가 결성해서

만들어진 미국의 남매듀오로 1969년에 데뷔

Karen의 낮은 음역 보컬과 Richard의 작곡능력이 결합되어

수많은 소프트한 음악을 만들어 냈다.

1984년 거식증에 의한 Karen Carpenter의 사망으로 그들의 활동은 끝이 났다.

이곡 ‘Top Of The World’는 전 세계적으로 사랑을 받았던 그들의 대표곡이다.

   

국내에서는 이성애라는 가수가 '사랑을 느낄 때'라는 제목으로 

번안해 불러 많은 인기를 끌었다.
